PLATFORM 22
PLATFORM 22 is part of the ATTAKKALARI INDIA BIENNIAL 2021-22, the most pre-eminent contemporary movement arts festival in South Asia. The Platform is dedicated to showcasing, discussing and engaging with the works of emerging and diverse voices in contemporary dance-making and movement arts from India. It is also aimed at providing support to choreographers in India who have extended the boundaries of their craft, taken risks in their artistic practice and portrayed originality of thought as much as fluency of movements in creations. This program will provide a dynamic space for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and experiences between artists and audiences at the Biennial.
ELIGIBILITY

You need to be a young dance artist based in India.

The work you are applying with must be original, created in 2020-21 and within a duration limit of 40-60 mins.

The work can be a full choreographic performance, a work in progress, a collage of excerpts or a demonstration of process.

An interest and willingness to engage the audiences in your creative process is an added bonus.

Young artists from marginalised communities are specifically encouraged to apply.

Artists who are not based in Bangalore, please note that your eligibility will be impacted by the prevalent COVID Guidelines.

Artists who are not based in Bangalore, please also note that the Festival will unfortunately not be able to offer any financial assistance over and above the fixed base presentation fee towards any expenses incurred in travel, accommodation, costume etc.

The size of the team is not a determining factor for eligibility but keeping in mind the current circumstances, you are encouraged to keep the number of your team members - performers and non performers to the bare minimum necessary.
WHAT DO YOU GET?

An all inclusive presentation fee of Rs.15,000 per artist with an upper cap of Rs.50,000 per team.

The entire revenue generated from the ticket sales of PLATFORM 22 will be equally distributed amongst the team members of the selected performances.

Performance Venue and Basic technical support for the presentations.

Marketing, Ticketing and Publicity support for the showcase.
